Head Athletic TrainerSpalding-University Center - Louisville, KY 40203OverviewEducation Level Master's Category EducationDescriptionFull-Time Head Athletic TrainerThe Head Athletic Trainer will maintain and coordinate a comprehensive sports medicine program for Spalding University athletics.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform professional and administrative services essential for the success of the program.Duties will include:Injury prevention, emergency care, first aid and physical rehabilitation of injuries incurred by Spalding University's intercollegiate athletes.Will organize and conduct medically prescribed sports rehabilitation and conditioning programs following an injury and be responsible for appropriate organization and implementation of athletic insurance claim paperwork and follow-up as necessary.Supervise, and participate in the teaching of graduate athletic training students enrolled in an innovative, new entry-level Master of Science Degree Program in Athletic Training.QualificationsSKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Applicants must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky.A master's degree and previous collegiate athletic training experience is required.Must have excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking, and budget management skills in addition to knowledge of the NCAA.INTERRELATIONSThe ability to effectively communicate with and solve problems for diverse groups, including prospective or current students, fellow counselors and support staff, alumni, and other constituencies.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an environment characterized by large workloads, deadline pressures and high-performance standards.All applications are made through the Paycom Applicant Tracking System.Spalding University offers a comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, Spalding matching contribution up to 5% to your 403b/Roth retirement plan, generous Paid Time Off program, Parental Leave, paid holidays, paid life insurance and long-term disability, paid time for volunteering, and more.Situated in the heart of downtown Louisville, Kentucky's largest city, Spalding University combines a rich social justice history and a commitment to community service as we attract students who desire a high-quality education in a very personalized setting.
