Receiving Clerk

Description

Summary:

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording all deliveries of fresh fruit into the packing facility. This role ensures all shipments are accurately accounted for by verifying the quantity and quality of items received and properly managing inventory placement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain an accurate receiving log as fruit arrives at the packing facility.


• Inspect incoming fruit by sampling to ensure quality standards are met.


• Verify that all bins entering the packing house have proper tags.


• Print and maintain receipts for received inventory.


• Notify a supervisor of any discrepancies in quantity, quality, or documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older


• Must complete required training provided by Orchard View, Inc.


• Ability to understand verbal and follow basic verbal and written communication.


• Must have reliable transportation.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Basic computer skills required

• Able to answer and manage incoming phone calls


Working Conditions:

• Schedule includes Monday through Sunday workdays.


• Employees may work up to 10 hours per day and 60 hours per week.


Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and stretch for extended periods.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.


• May involve repetitive motion, including substantial hand and wrist movement.


• Must be able to walk up and down stairs.


• Must wear appropriate, clean clothing and footwear suitable for working conditions; clothing must be free of rips, tears, or loose fabric that could pose a safety risk.
