Business Development Manager III - Financial Wellness Solutions

As a Business Development Manager III within PNC's Financial Wellness Solutions organization, you will be based in the East Territory. This role drives new client acquisition and solution expansion by delivering financial wellness offerings aligned to complex organizational needs, primarily supporting the Relationship Manager (RM) book of business. You will identify, qualify, and advance opportunities using a consultative sales approach, leading efforts from initial engagement through close. You will position differentiated financial wellness solutions—including health and benefit accounts, student debt solution, earned wage access, and other workforce financial wellness capabilities—to senior decision-makers and key stakeholders. The role includes closing new business and expanding existing client relationships in partnership with internal teams. You will build market presence through networking and collaboration with Centers of Influence (COIs), brokers, and strategic partners to support pipeline growth. Travel within the supported territory is required to meet with Relationship Managers, clients, prospects, and partners. Preferred experience includes origination and closing of new business in one or more of the following sectors: professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, wholesale, or general services. Additional locations within the East Territory may be considered. PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture. Responsibilities Set client acquisition strategies and direct new client sales activities across financial wellness solutions, with emphasis on growing sales, revenue, and market share. Work with clients with advanced levels of risk and complexity of needs; operate independently and mentor other team members as needed. Create and drive strategy to acquire, expand, and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet. Originate, perform financial analysis, negotiate, and document non-credit products and services; manage risk/return and drive quality for new and existing clients. Identify and mitigate various risks (regulatory, reputational, operational); focus on opportunities by understanding client needs and financial well-being. Drive client engagement and loyalty through strategic dialogue and opportunity quantification. Contribute ideas and best practices within financial wellness solutions; mentor others as appropriate. Develop and manage networks of senior internal and external relationships to acquire new clients and expand existing ones, enhancing the client experience. Present the full range of PNC products and services to bring the entire bank to the client; leverage reporting and sales tools to identify and convert opportunities. Demonstrate ability to analyze and position complex financial wellness solutions with industry benchmarking. Qualifications Competencies: Business Acumen, Client Relationship Management, Customer Experience Management, Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Effective Communications, Sales Negotiation, Selling. Tech Savvy. Education: Bachelor’s degree required; higher-level degrees or certifications desirable. Experience: Industry-relevant experience typically 8+ years; specific certifications often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered. Licenses/Certifications: No Required Certification(s); No Required License(s). Compensation and Benefits Base Salary: $80,000.00 – $179,400.00; salaries vary by location, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible based on company and individual performance. Benefits include medical/prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, disability protection, 401(k) with match, pension and stock plans, dependent care reimbursement, family support programs, education assistance, wellness programs, and other programs described in the Total Rewards page. Paid time off includes holidays, leave, vacation days, and other time-off provisions based on eligibility and career level.
