Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret the proper installation specifications for various construction projects.
• Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment.
• Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding.
• Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders.
• Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities.
• Have familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment.
• Utilize hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc.
• Inventory and transport tools/materials as required to the job site.
• Act in a supervisory manner and provide direction to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools.
• Establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Maintain and provide accurate departmental paperwork as requested.
• Know all safety and security requirements and follow them implicitly; assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area.
• Dress appropriately for the job environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school, or equivalent as determined by Installation Manager.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level II Central Office Installer.
• Respond promptly to customer needs and request customer feedback to improve the partnership.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses.
• Ability to lift tools and equipment as needed (minimum 10 lbs).
• Proficiency in customer specifications and standards.
• Excellent communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; demonstrates group presentation skills.
• Excellent time management, organize, plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and develop realistic action plans.
• Dependable follows instructions, responds to management direction; keeps commitments.
