Staff Pharmacist

The Pharmacist also assists with training and management of pharmacy technicians and volunteer pharmacists, ensuring policies and protocols are followed. As part of the Essential Functions for this position, the Staff Pharmacist:Fills patient prescriptions and answers provider questionsProvides counseling on both prescription medications and over-the-counter medications in accordance with APhA guidelinesProvides exceptional customer service to all consumersAssists in medication ordering and maintenance of appropriate inventory controls within the pharmacyAssists in the procurement, storing, and accounting of pharmaceuticalsConducts drug utilization reviews as neededManages rejected claimsProvides troubleshooting functions for third-party discrepancies and other prescription filling issuesQualified Candidate will be a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and hold a current New York State Pharmacist license; experience working within a community pharmacy setting preferred; experience serving specialty and underserved populations preferred; candidate must demonstrate typing and counting accuracy, in addition to keen attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essentialJob Type: Full-timeRequired Education/License: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), with current NYS Pharmacist licenseRequired Experience: Experience working in a community pharmacy preferredThis position is posted with a salary range.
