We are seeking a cheery, well organized, and self starting Medical Assistant to join our team! Select Foot and Ankle Specialists is small but quickly growing podiatric practice serving Cypress, Tomball Tx and the surrounding communities. We perform surgical and non-surgical care for foot and ankle problems for patients of all age groups. Some of the ailments we treat range from diabetic foot care/ limb salvage, ingrown toenails, ankle and foot instability, fractures, forefoot and rear foot reconstruction, sport injuries, heel pain, neuromas, ulcerations, and more. The Podiatric Medical Assistant is a multi skilled office worker who works both independently and with health professionals to assist in the delivery of high quality healthcare to patients with a variety of foot and ankle problems. This position requires the individual to perform both front and back office tasks to keep Select Foot and Ankle Specialists running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
* Front desk reception/ Greeting patients.
* Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner.
* Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff.
* Performing computer skill in patient billing, transcription, insurance claims, and data entry.
* Answering phones and scheduling office appointments and surgeries.
* Assist with coordination of care between various medical providers.
* Communicate with insurance companies, verify patient benefits, and obtain pre authorization for procedures and imaging studies.
* Check in/check out patients and escort them to exam rooms.
* Collecting copays and balances.
* Clean exam rooms between patients.
* Maintain patient privacy.

Qualifications:
* Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields.
* Friendly, positive attitude with "patient first" mentality.
* Familiarity with medical billing procedures.
* Strong organizational skills.
