The Pediatric Registered Nurse Manager will oversee a comprehensive Pediatric and PICU service line featuring 2 0 + private pediatric rooms, 10 private PICU beds, family-centered care, and a CMS Birthing-Friendly designation , with several rooms supporting video epilepsy monitoring. The pediatric population ranges from newborns through young adults and includes medical-surgical patients, respiratory illness and failure, orthopedic procedures such as scoliosis and fracture care, congenital repairs, cranial surgeries, diabetes, and transfers from neonatal and maternal-child services. In the Pediatric Registered Nurse Manager role, leadership responsibility will span both high- and lower-acuity pediatric populations, creating an excellent opportunity for a leader with a strong clinical foundation in pediatric nursing and PICU care. Pediatric nurses are supported by PALS preparation, EKG education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a team-based model that brings together nursing, physicians, pharmacy, social work, case management, and other healthcare professionals. PICU care includes critically ill infants, children, and young adults requiring close monitoring and complex interventions, with typical PICU staffing of approximately one RN to one or two patients. The Pediatric Registered Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Women’s and Children’s Services and will provide operational and clinical leadership across both pediatric departments. Clinical Nurse Leads are available on each shift to assist with scheduling, shift-level problem solving, annual reviews, interviews, and other leadership responsibilities, giving the Pediatric Registered Nurse Manager a strong frontline leadership structure to build upon. The ideal leader will bring extensive pediatric and preferably PICU RN experience along with approximately three to five years of nurse management experience and the ability to lead teams caring for diverse pediatric populations across a wide range of acuity levels Southern Arizona offers the Pediatric Registered Nurse Manager an exceptional combination of sunshine, outdoor recreation, cultural diversity, and city amenities without the pace and density of a major metropolitan area.
