Speech Language Pathologist - SLP
Unlock Communication in the Heart of the Sunshine State – Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us
Imagine stepping into a role where each day is an opportunity to empower others through the magic of communication. As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in the charm of Tallahassee, your work transcends the mere correction of language and swallowing disorders. Here, your mission will lead you to help individuals of all ages discover their voices, reclaim their confidence, and forge connections — from excited toddlers speaking their first words to resilient seniors restoring their independence.
This position offers a rewarding blend of outpatient therapy and the occasional inpatient support. Regardless of whether your heart lies with pediatric speech development, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric intervention, you will be lauded for your skills and find that each day offers new avenues for professional satisfaction and growth.
Conduct evaluations for a diverse array of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and insightful observations.
Create individualized treatment plans with a focus on both immediate goals and broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
Provide dedicated speech therapy sessions emphasizing aspects such as language, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing techniques.
Engage collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop harmonious care strategies.
Deliver informative education to patients and their families to nurture continuity of progress beyond the clinical environment.
Participate in inpatient therapy evaluations as needed to ensure a seamless continuum of care throughout the recovery journey.
Maintain comprehensive and punctual documentation compliant with all pertinent state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Commit to continuous learning by staying abreast of innovations in the field through education and collaborative engagement.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the candidate has not yet achieved ASHA certification.
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based practices for a wide range of ages, combined with a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders both congenital and acquired.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
A creative approach to tailoring therapy strategies that honor varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical reasoning and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record systems and maintaining documentation standards.
Attractive compensation reflecting expertise and experience.
Flexible work schedules that promote both professional dedication and personal balance.
Opportunities to focus on specialized areas: pediatrics, adult neuro-rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation.
Varied medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
Support for continuing education and career development.
Inclusive team-focused atmosphere that values high-quality care and ongoing learning.
In this role, you won't merely perform speech therapy; you will become part of a heartfelt mission to communicate, connect, and celebrate every individual's journey towards clarity and understanding. Your colleagues will feel like family, working together closely in a setting that champions cooperation over rivalry. Each patient's journey is unique, and together, we'll work to articulate their story through effective communication.
Tallahassee, the proud capital of Florida, blends educational vibrancy with a rich historical backdrop, making it a fascinating place to call home. Amidst picturesque parks and botanical gardens, the city's charm lies in its welcoming atmosphere and the warmth of its community. With a lively arts scene, friendly local markets, and culinary gems waiting to be discovered, it's easy to see why so many fall in love with this city.
Immerse yourself in the outdoor culture; enjoy hiking trails along lush nature preserves, or explore the stunning lakes and rivers perfect for weekend adventures. Local festivals often honor both the arts and the tastes of the region, providing a vibrant cultural experience throughout the year. Plus, the friendly ambiance and a relatively low cost of living create a comfortable lifestyle where your career and personal growth can flourish.
Whether you are a newcomer to the field or a seasoned professional ready to embrace new challenges, you will find the nurturing environment to elevate your skills and enrich your life.
We are eager to welcome a Speech Language Pathologist who possesses a deep sense of empathy and purpose alongside clinical expertise. You might be the individual who recognizes the potential in a silent child, envisioning the day they eloquently express themselves. Or perhaps you're someone who hears a stroke survivor's hesitant words and perceives the determination behind them.
Whether your strength lies in pediatric services or adult rehabilitation, if you are passionate about impacting lives and enhancing communication, you'll find your place with us.
If you think that communication is an art and therapy goes beyond technique — if you believe in each patient's narrative and the role laughter plays in learning — then this could be your next professional journey.
Step into a community where you'll celebrate growth, connection, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Join us and make your mark while helping others to find their voices — apply today to lift our mission forward.
