2027 Summer Intern: Government Affairs- Corporate

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future. At a Glance You're a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university: Law, Liberal Arts, Political Science, History, English, Philosophy, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Public Safety, Business Administration This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field. Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027. In addition to role‑specific projects, you'll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally. What you can expect in this role As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross‑functional projects and final presentations. This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business. Internship responsibilities may include: The Summer Intern will assist the northeast team in the planning and execution of a variety of strategic initiatives that serve to engage local elected officials and other important stakeholders in advancing the needs of the business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Coordinate activities and resources for projects that impact the local Government Affairs team Assist with outreach to elected offices Research for briefing documents, meetings Assist with data tracking in Excel and maintaining tracking databases of events, invitations, RSVPs, and reporting. Produce detailed project materials including letters, presentations, programs, flyers, etc. Assist in office management and regular administrative duties including printing, e-filing etc. Performing other related duties as assigned Required qualifications Must be a rising junior or rising senior with an expected graduation date between of May 2028 to May 2029 Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Strong writing and communications skills Good organizational and project management skills, attention to detail Interest in government, telecommunications and/or public policy Passion for media, politics and current events
