As a family-owned company, we are committed to outstanding service, teamwork, integrity, and supporting the growth of our employees.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team in Whitinsville, MA. This position supports day-to-day HR operations across the organization, including employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, compliance, employee lifecycle activities, HRIS management, and reporting. The Senior HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Director, managers, and employees throughout the company and will cross-train on all payroll functions to serve as backup for end-to-end payroll processing.What You'll DoEmployee Relations & HR SupportSupport managers and employees with company policies, attendance, performance documentation, and general HR mattersAssist with employee relations issues and workplace investigationsPromote consistent HR practices and positive employee engagementHR OperationsSupport employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, promotions, transfers, status changes, and terminationsMaintain accurate employee records and HRIS dataPrepare HR reports, metrics, and compliance documentationIdentify opportunities to improve HR processes and efficiencyPayroll & BenefitsSupport payroll administration through PaylocityAssist with payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and employee questionsCross-train on payroll processes and serve as backup for payroll processingSupport benefits administration, open enrollment, renewals, and vendor coordinationComplianceSupport compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsAssist with HR audits and required reportingSupport wage and hour, leave administration, and other HR compliance requirementsMaintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company informationRequirementsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience7+ years of progressive Human Resources experienceStrong experience with HR operations, payroll, benefits, and employee relationsExperience with performance management and workplace investigationsHRIS/payroll system experience; Paylocity strongly preferredStrong knowledge of employment laws, wage and hour regulations, leave administration, and HR complianceExperience supporting a multi-location workforce preferredExperience with benefits renewals, open enrollment, and vendor managementAdvanced Microsoft Excel and HR reporting skillsStrong communication, organization, judgment, and attention to detailWhy Join Koopman Lumber?Join a well-established, family-owned company with a long history in New England and an HR team focused on supporting employees, managers, and the continued growth of the organization.
