Start Up Nuclear Energy Company Seeks Second Legal Hire | NYC, DC or Houston

Overview An innovative clean energy company transforming the economics of nuclear power, is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team in New York City, Washington, DC or Houston. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth company at the forefront of next-generation energy infrastructure on the ground floor as their second legal hire. The company is developing a platform designed to reduce nuclear construction costs by more than 60% while accelerating deployment timelines through advanced manufacturing and proven reactor technologies. The Associate General Counsel will partner closely with business leadership and the Deputy General Counsel on a broad range of sophisticated commercial and corporate matters, including: Responsibilities Negotiating and drafting complex commercial, procurement and supply agreements Supporting project development and project finance initiatives Advising engineering, construction and procurement teams Managing corporate governance, entity formation and transactional matters Working alongside investors, customers, suppliers and outside counsel on strategic transactions Advising on regulatory, export control and intellectual property issues Qualifications 4+ years of experience at a top law firm, with project finance, project development, infrastructure or energy experience Strong commercial contracting and transactional skills A practical, business-oriented approach to solving complex legal issues Excellent judgment, communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Passion for nuclear energy and the company’s mission Experience with nuclear energy is not required. Candidates with project finance, infrastructure, energy construction, renewable energy, power or other complex commercial transactional experience are encouraged to apply. Compensation and location Compensation will consist of a base of $200,000 to $225,000 and a generous equity package. This role can sit in NYC where it would be remote except for regular, frequent travel to DC or in DC or Houston where they are in the office 3 days a week.
