You will be expected to actively pursue continuous improvement with current suppliers and potential suppliers. You will be expected to continually explore opportunities arising from process and product improvements, new technology, alternative materials and suppliers, enhancements in supply chain activities, cost reduction programs and any other opportunities that may present a competitive advantage. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.Role and responsibilitiesMonitors developments and trends within the supply base and ensures ASML is prepared to react appropriatelyDrives supplier selection activities by leading one or more Sourcing TeamsNegotiates Long Term Supply Agreements (LTSA), NPI Agreements, and associated addendaMonitors contractual compliance of the supplier as well as ASMLDrives continuous cost and lead time reductionPrepares supplier spending forecastsMonitors supplier financial healthEnsures all communication to the supplier is coordinated and consistentExecutes the QLTCS (Quality, Logistics, Technology, Cost and Sustainability) supplier performance measurement processPrepares for, leads, and follows-up from SAT (“Supplier Account Team”) meetingsDrives supply base rationalization within the categoryParticipates in supplier quality audits and drives closure of findingsEducation and experienceBachelor degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field is required or equivalent experience a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supplier management in a high-tech, international manufacturing environmentExperience in Electronics preferredA deep understanding of one or more technology-related supply chains is strongly preferred. Due to the strategic nature of the commodities involved, a proven track record in developing strong business relationships with key suppliers and experience in developing and executing long term agreements isrequiredExperience with complex negotiations, problem solving, strategic planning and financial analysis are essentialAbility to travel domestically and internationally requiredKnowledge of continuous improvement techniques is a big plus and a strong familiarity with technology manufacturing is highly preferredMBA is strongly preferredSkillsMakes predictions and anticipates on future developments in the marketInteraction with internal & external stakeholdersFormulates, and after approval implements and monitors plan for own SAT and gives input to sourcing strategyManages SAT with high volume and/or critical materials and/or services with high risk for business continuity Orchestrates relationships with Development & Engineering, Logistics and Industrial Engineering at strategic levelHas contacts and cooperates with stakeholders throughout the entire organization and with external parties, local as well as globalTypically represented by contacts up to EVP and BoM levelFully understands own discipline / area and relation with other business processesEstablish Cost of Goods roadmap in support of business targets & calculated cost priceSupplier relationshipOwns global suppliers and builds and maintains relationships with them on tactical & strategic level negotiationTakes into account potential barriers to realize the plan, keeps deadlines even in adversary circumstancesProduces work that meets ambitious quality standards, recognizes and pays attention to the critical few details and takes measures to improve quality within the scope of own workConsistently adheres to rules, procedures and processes, even beyond own area of responsibilitySets SMART targets for self and others and aligns them to overall organizational objectivesMonitors progress and measures results and overcomes barriers by reacting to changing environmental factors at an early stage; escalates if targets cannot be metIs able to influence stakeholders, work independently and remains effective under pressureTo thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.Negotiation skills are critical.Candidate needs to be able to operate effectively with all levels of management both internally and externally.The ability to lead cross-functional teams is essential to performing the job.Must be able to professionally represent ASML to outside companies.Must thrive in an environment where multi-tasking is the norm. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
