Key Responsibilities of the ER RN

• Administer emergency medications and manage dysrhythmias
• Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Perform phlebotomy and start intravenous lines
• Administer blood products and care for central lines
• Conduct procedural sedation administration and management
• Manage patients requiring continuous IV sedation and vasopressors
• Float to different units as census warrants

Requirements of the ER RN

• 1 year of ER nursing experience
• Active NY State RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
