About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: NY license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement - Ability to float when census warrants Description: Position requires an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. Candidates with a minimum of 1 year of ER experience are preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 5 with mixed/shared acuity levels. Block scheduling accommodations will be considered but are not guaranteed. Candidates must not be located within 75 miles of the facility. Minimal requests for time off are preferred. Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement is a required skill. Candidates will float when census warrants. Every other weekend commitment is required. Skills needed include blood product administration, central line care, and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with emergency medications and procedural sedation administration is preferred. Familiarity with Epic charting is advantageous. RNs will care for patients across all age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The emergency department has a daily census of approximately 64 patients. Support services include respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Interdisciplinary collaboration is essential within the unit. Candidates are expected to manage a diverse range of patient diagnoses and conditions.
