Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join their team in North Carolina. This role offers a dynamic work environment where the successful candidate will perform a variety of accounting functions critical to the company's financial health.
Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting functions including determining the proper handling of financial transactions, booking journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
• Create, review, and submit state sales and use tax returns.
• Record and reconcile payroll in the general ledger.
• Create and journalize internal debit notes.
• Reconcile cash entries daily and monthly.
• Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with additional financial reporting and analysis as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all financial matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Familiarity with state sales and use tax regulations is preferred.

Required Work Hours

Monday through Friday, standard first shift hours.

Additional Details

Compensation ranges from $32 to $39 per hour, depending on experience. This position requires around 0% travel time, allowing the successful candidate to focus on onsite responsibilities.
