Order SelectorIMMEDIATELY HIRING!Shift times: start time is 5:30pDays: TBDPay: $20-$23RESPONSIBILITIESThis position is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Duties include; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Prepare items for shipment by providing support to the shipping department and assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material as needed while maintaining a high standard of efficiency and accuracy. Work environments vary depending on position and include dry, cooler and frozen atmospheres. Details of job functions are as follows:Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.Deliver or route materials, using work devices such as hand truck, pallet jack, standup forklift, etc.Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list.ESSENTIAL DUTIESChecking incoming merchandise against invoices or orders to spot quantity discrepancies and damaged goods and inspect the quality and condition of the merchandise receivedMoving product to correct storage areasBeing familiar with all product locationsKeep supervisor informed of inventory levels and product requirementsCapable of following instructions from Managers, Supervisors and fellow associates correctlyAbility to accurately determine the difference between similar productsKeep warehouse in neat, orderly condition at all timesWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSPrefer to have two to four years previous experience in receiving, preferably in a food distribution environmentPrevious experience working in food distribution is highly desirableExperience using a WMS scanning system or a similar type of programMust have accountability, accuracy, well organized and detail orientedMust demonstrate honesty and IntegrityReliable and responsibleMust demonstrate safety awareness and have the ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safetyMust work well under pressurePossess strong oral and written communication skillsMust be able to work in a fast paced environment and deal with pressure situations and deadlines regularlyBe able to quickly adapt to changes in the workplaceMust be capable of working in extreme temperatures, both cold and frozenStand up Forklift: 1 year (Required)Reach Experience: 1 year (Required)EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Two to four years related experienceFamiliarity with computer software or warehouse softwareWORKING CONDITIONSStandard warehouse conditions apply. Long hours spent standing, walking, bending and lifting products. Operating industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
