Surgical Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of the Business Office, support the daily operations of the clinic’s surgery counselors. Responsibilities include verifying patient benefits and communicating coverage details, entering insurance information into the system, ensuring accuracy of the surgery schedule, obtaining surgery authorizations and pre determinations, coordinating information with offsite facilities, and collecting payments. Experience Minimum of 1 year surgical insurance verification Minimum 1 year retrieving authorizations experience General knowledge of insurance verification Certification & Licensure None Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent Job Duties Include Verify insurance benefits for surgery patients and relay the information to patient before surgery Input insurance information into template and mail out to patient. Input insurance information into patient’s chart. Assist with day-to day clinic operations relating to insurance verification for, but not limited to: Cataracts, pediatric cases, glaucoma, and YAG surgeries, and oculoplastic Retrieve predeterminations and authorizations for surgery cases Attendance/Punctuality and Reliability Fulfillment of Core Values All other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills Must obtain NextGen or other similar medical office software Basic keyboarding Knowledge of practice management software Must be able to type 20 WPM General office equipment Positive attitude Dependable, multi-task oriented Excellent communication skills Organized Excellent phone skills Benefits Affordable Health and Dental Vision Care Life Insurance PTO 401K #J-18808-Ljbffr
