Position Summary Essential Duties and Responsibilities Working hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment. Perform therapeutic procedures such as I&D, splinting, suturing, managing infection, and wound care. Documents patient information in line with current policies and procedures. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate. Follows established policies, procedures, objectives, and recommended referral practices. Orders diagnostic tests and interpret test results from deviation from normal. Orients and trains new practitioners when necessary. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing staff as required. Participates in facility in-services, required staff meetings, and other clinic operations procedures. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Successful completion from an approved physician assistant program Current and unrestricted PA license in the State of Florida required Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required DEA license required Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
