The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services. Job Summary Leonardo DRS Land Electronics delivers advanced components and mission-critical systems that close capability gaps across military platforms and networks—from embedded electronics and power solutions to field and sustainment-level diagnostic tools. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, our team operates from a newly constructed 131,500-square-foot facility, including a 24,000-square-foot vehicle integration building that supports hands-on work with several of the latest military vehicles. In this role, you’ll support and participate in technical activities across the full product lifecycle—designing, developing, analyzing, documenting, and supporting the test of products, systems, and subsystems. What You Will Do Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems. May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compile and evaluate design and test data. Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches. Support and participate in technical activity Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments Ability to work independently under supervision of others Provide regular reporting of progress and status Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required May participate in preparation of less complex proposals Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field Foundational technical knowledge with the ability to apply engineering principles within the assigned domain Knowledge of development tools such as LTSpice, Cadence, OrCAD Schematic Capture and Allegro editor/viewer, AutoCAD, and PTC Creo View desirable Knowledge of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-810, etc. is a plus Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
