Business Operations Specialist

The Business Operations Specialist is responsible for partnering with executive leadership to coordinate operational priorities and support strategic business initiatives. This role will coordinate multiple functions, ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely follow-through on key deliverables. The position requires exceptional organizational skills, business judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of office administration, business operations, and executive support practices.
• Knowledge of project coordination, workflow management, and processing documentation.

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Merchandising leader to coordinate product development and launch activities, ensuring priorities, timelines and follow-through stay on track from planning through execution
• Anticipate needs, identify potential challenges, and communicate effectively to keep projects moving forward
• Coordinate cross-functional workflows between multiple teams to ensure product readiness and timely launches
• Maintain project timelines, track deliverables, and follow up with internal and external partners
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support team efficiency
• Prepare detailed Excel and PowerPoint materials for seasonal introductions, trade markets, and customer meetings
• Organize and maintain product information, samples, fabric libraries, and merchandising resources
• Support High Point Showroom planning, including housing, catering, staffing, and logistics
• Manage department administrative needs, including scheduling, calendars, travel arrangements, and expense reporting
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Experience

· 7+ years of experience in office administration, business operations, project coordination, or a related role: experience in retail, consumer products, furniture, merchandising, or a related industry strongly preferred

· Bachelor's degree preferred: equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered

· Experience supporting a fast-paced team with multiple competing priorities

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, an PowerPoint

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently in a highly self-directed office environment while building strong relationships with colleagues and partners who may be based in other locations

· Experience with tools such as Trello, Canva, or Adobe is a plus

· Less than 10% travel may be required
