Assistant Security Account Manager

Allied Universal is looking to hire an Assistant Account Manager. The Assistant Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Account Manager with supervisory, training and operations functions at the assigned post in accordance with post orders and client instructions, and following all internal procedures. To support and ensure success in this role, we provide a comprehensive, week-long management onboarding course designed to provide best practices, tools and guidance. Responsibilities Assists with the coordination of all aspects (technical and managerial) of executing the security contract at the assigned location, including assigning work tasks to Security Professionals and directing their work throughout the day. Serves as the first direct supervisory contact for shift supervisors or for Security Professionals regarding performance, operations, and department needs; responsible for supervising, motivating, coaching, and training, evaluating performance and making recommendations about assignments. Ensures that Post Order manual and all other post and training information are properly maintained and updated, and that the post is properly maintained, cleaned, and organized. Assists the Account Manager in conducting interviews and evaluating new employees; conducts on‑the‑job training in coordination with Shift Supervisors for new employees or when post orders change, including orientation to the post and response to emergency situations or specific client needs. Oversees all reports, logs and passdowns generated by and for the Security Department, distributing communications and other information to Security Professionals at the post as directed. Manages and supervises all sub‑units within the Security Department, such as the fire control room, command center, and loading docks as applicable; may generate work orders and attached paperwork for extra security coverage requests. Responds to minor incidents—internal to Security Professionals and/or external to client location—ensuring appropriate action is taken, all reports are properly completed, and appropriate parties are notified in a timely manner. Identifies personnel problems such as payroll issues or employee relations complaints, forwarding issues to the Account Manager or Field Supervisor as appropriate; may write a report or assist with an investigation as directed. Recommends counseling and/or disciplinary action, including termination, and may administer such actions at the direction of the Account Manager with prior approval from HR management. Responds to client or site emergencies as they arise, ensuring appropriate communication to the Account Manager, Field Supervisor, Branch, and/or Regional Manager; maintains positive client/security relationships through frequent tenant/client contact and support. May occasionally perform Security Professional type duties on an as‑needed basis, but under no circumstances may exceed 50% of the time in any given workweek. Qualifications Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3–5 years of professional‑level experience; prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, and/or military required. Must possess a valid state Guard License or have been issued one prior to employment. As a condition of employment, the employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post‑offer/pre‑employment drug/alcohol test, and must maintain active Guard License status and carry the license at all times while on duty. Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience and a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 36 months, no more than one accident in the last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in the last 24 months), minimum insurance level required by company policy, and the ability to safely operate the required vehicle. Energetic and focused personality with initiative, ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments, and manage deadlines; strong customer service orientation, with ability to de‑escalate situations before they become hostile. Professional, articulate, and independent judgment and discretion. Ability to train and coach others and to enforce post orders, security standards, and company policies equitably and consistently. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with clients while functioning as a team player. Must be available to work outside normal shift schedule on an as‑needed basis and accessible by phone or pager 24/7 for emergency response. Preferred Qualifications College education or business classes. Experience in scheduling, operations or other functions of the security industry. Ability to write effective and concise reports in neat, legible handwriting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and email. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance. Enrollment in the company’s 401(k) or Supplemental Income Plan, subject to eligibility requirements. Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days. Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly; unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
