The Simulation Technologist supports the daily operations of the School of Nursing high-fidelity simulation laboratory. The position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting simulation equipment and technology; setting up and resetting simulation environments; and providing technical support for simulation-based learning activities. The Simulation Technologist works collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure simulation activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with course and learning objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare simulation laboratories, equipment, supplies, and technology for scheduled simulation learning activities.
• Set up, operate, and reset high-fidelity patient simulators, task trainers, audiovisual systems, and other simulation equipment.
• Provide technical support during simulation activities, including troubleshooting equipment and technology issues.
• Assist faculty with the use of simulation equipment, audiovisual systems, and simulation software.
• Perform routine cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of simulation equipment and supplies.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of simulation scenarios, including moulage, medications, equipment, and other materials as directed by faculty.
• Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and functional simulation environment.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with the receipt, organization, storage, and distribution of simulation equipment and supplies.
• Assist with equipment demonstrations as requested.
• Support simulation activities outside of regularly scheduled class times as needed, within the established 20-hour work schedule.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and simulation-related activities.
• Follow University, School of Nursing, laboratory, safety, and equipment-use policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties related to simulation laboratory operations as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with technology, audiovisual equipment, computers, or technical equipment.
• Ability to learn and operate simulation technology, patient simulators, audiovisual systems, and related software.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet scheduled simulation setup and reset requirements. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a nursing, healthcare, simulation, clinical skills, or educational environment.
• Experience with high-fidelity patient simulators or healthcare simulation technology.
• Familiarity with audiovisual learning technologies or simulation management software.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare equipment and clinical skills.
• Experience providing technical support in an educational or healthcare setting.
