Mobile Golf/Turf Equipment Technician

Mobile Service TechnicianJob Classification: Non-ExemptReports To: Field Service ManagerEssential Duties (including, but not limited to):Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technologyConsult equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawingsPerform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating partsDiagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipmentInspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gearsOverhaul and test major components, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systemsDissemble and reassemble equipment and componentsResponsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of informationMay participate in Service Educate Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeOperates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilitiesMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsTravel to and from various customers' locations to perform assigned tasksAll employees, other than remote sales staff, are expected to report to their designated work location and be ready to work at the start of their assigned shift.Non-Essential Duties (including, but not limited to):Other duties as requested/assignedSkills and qualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentValid Driver's LicenseDriving history suitable for coverage under company insuranceBasic knowledge of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding is desiredOne year of familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures desiredFormal vocational or post-secondary training in diesel technology or equipment mechanics desiredPossess excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with othersAbility to manage multiple tasks with competing prioritiesTeam player, willingness to and be adaptable in challenging situationsWorking ConditionsService Technicians usually work indoors and outdoors in a noisy shop environment. They often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.Requirements2 - 5 years of mechanical experience requiredFamiliarity with golf equipment preferredValid Driver's license requiredPhysical requirements:Must be able to complete various activities in the shop and at customers' locations that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying, bending, stretching, kneeling, and squattingMust be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time
