Program Lead II, Clinical Program Development (Director Level)

AbbVie seeks a Program Lead II in Clinical Program Development to oversee clinical research program execution, connecting scientific strategy with operational delivery. The role involves managing clinical study portfolios up to $200M, leading cross-functional teams, and developing clinical operations staff in a director-level position.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute clinical operational strategy aligned with asset development goals and scientific objectives
Evaluate programmatic risks and identify strategic mitigation options for asset strategy teams
Manage external budgets across clinical development portfolios and develop resource projections
Lead direct and indirect clinical operations staff, mentoring 4-15 study managers and up to 30 indirect staff
Drive cross-functional innovation initiatives and ensure quality compliance with ICH/GCP standards

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in nursing or scientific field; Associate's degree with R.N. acceptable
12+ years pharmaceutical or clinical research experience
10+ years clinical research with demonstrated leadership managing multiple global studies
Expertise in risk management, strategic decision-making, and program execution
Strong communication and remote people management capabilities
Subject matter expertise in ICH, global regulations, ethics, and compliance standards
Experience across study phases from initiation through completion and data analysis
