Mechanical Assembler

The Mechanical Assembler reports to the ReWork Supervisor and assembles mechanical components in accordance with engineering and quality standards to meet customer requirements and expectations. This role works closely with Machine Operators and Warehouse associates to achieve production targets while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. The position is ideal for someone with basic mechanical assembly experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day production assembly tasks, including building and assembling housed bearing assemblies and performing related functional assembly operations.
• Operate basic production machinery as required to support assembly and value-add processes.
• Work cross-functionally with other assembly and value-add departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time production.
• Handle inventory and raw material processing activities throughout the department, including moving, staging, and organizing materials.
• Assemble components in strict accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and documented work instructions.
• Follow all established safety procedures, rules, and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support quality and productivity goals.
• Identify and communicate any issues related to materials, equipment, or product quality to the appropriate team members.
• Use basic hand tools and equipment to complete mechanical assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Interpret and apply technical drawings and terminology during assembly to ensure correct builds.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of warehouse or assembly work experience.
• Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and terminology.
• Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 5060 lbs as part of daily tasks.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to perform basic machine operating functions.
• Capability to follow quality standards, safety procedures, and written instructions consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly, particularly housed bearing assemblies.
• Familiarity with mechanical components, power transmission components, or industrial-grade bearings.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in a production workspace.
• Willingness to collaborate with team members across assembly, machine operations, and warehouse functions.

Work Environment

This role is based in a brand-new, non-climate-controlled production facility equipped with large ceiling fans to help circulate airflow. You will work on a production floor alongside assembly, machine operation, and warehouse teams, using basic hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 5060 lbs. Beverages such as water, soda, and energy drinks are available in the cantina at no cost, while snacks are available for purchase and must be scanned so inventory can be restocked properly. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, supporting a professional and efficient working atmosphere.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
