Safety Coordinator - $59K+ Day Shift, Travel NY

This is a hands-on support role that works in partnership with plant managers, supervisors, and employees to understand operational needs, strengthen safety practices, and help implement practical solutions. The employee will spend approximately the first three months working and learning in plant production before gradually taking on additional safety support responsibilities. This position can be based out of any of our New York State Plants.

Shift: 7am-4:00

Pay Rate: 59,000 and up based on experience

Job Responsibilities:

· Learn production processes, equipment, workflows, quality expectations, and day-to-day safety risks.

· After the plant learning period, continue supporting operations while taking on additional safety responsibilities.

· Partner with plant managers and supervisors to identify training needs and implement safety improvements.

· Travel regularly to McIntosh locations across NY State, providing support for safety, training, and continuous improvement related initiatives.

· Support continuous improvement by identifying hazards or process gaps, helping determine root causes, and following through on corrective actions.

· Help plant managers coordinate on-the-job training and new employee safety orientation.

· Maintain safety, training, and compliance records by accurately entering and organizing documentation in UKG, designated SharePoint sites, and other company systems.

· Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Lockout/Tagout documentation, and other safety programs.

· Complete routine audits of training records, personnel files, and safety documentation to ensure records are accurate and up to date.

· Maintain company-required injury and first-aid records by accurately entering documentation into UKG.

· Maintain organized filing systems and ensure documents are retained according to company requirements.

· Support plant leadership during PLM and OSHA visits.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

· High School Diploma or GED

· Relevant experience in HR, Safety, or Manufacturing Operations

Qualifications:

· Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.

· Willingness and ability to work hands-on in plant production during the initial learning period.

· Service-oriented, collaborative approach with the ability to work in partnership with plant managers, supervisors, and employees.

· Demonstrated commitment to supporting plant teams through safety, teamwork, operational support, and continuous improvement.

· Ability to observe work processes, ask thoughtful questions, identify concerns, and contribute to practical solutions.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on responsibilities.

· Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn UKG, SharePoint, and other company systems.

· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Working Conditions/Travel:

· Comfortable working in both office and production environments

· Regular frequent same day and overnight travel to plant locations

· Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between company locations.
