Outside Sales Account Manager

Role Description CED Stockton is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to help grow our business and expand our presence into new and developing markets throughout the Northern Central Valley. This is a growth-focused position for someone who enjoys developing relationships, pursuing new business, and building a territory. We are particularly interested in candidates who have established business relationships within the region and understand the local contractor, construction, commercial, or industrial markets. The Outside Sales Representative will spend the majority of their time in the field developing new business, meeting with customers, visiting jobsites and facilities, identifying upcoming projects, and creating new sales opportunities. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to develop business in markets where their relationships, experience, and knowledge create the greatest opportunity for growth. You will be supported by CED Stockton’s inside sales, project management, warehouse, and delivery teams to provide customers with competitive quotations, strong material availability, reliable deliveries, and responsive service. We welcome experienced outside sales professionals as well as strong inside sales professionals who are ready to take the next step into outside sales and build their own territory. Responsibilities Develop new business and expand CED Stockton’s presence in surrounding markets Identify geographic areas, customers, and market segments with strong growth potential Prospect for new accounts and actively develop new sales opportunities Build and maintain relationships with electrical contractors, commercial and industrial customers, and other businesses within the territory Regularly visit customer offices, facilities, and jobsites Identify upcoming projects, bidding opportunities, and customer needs Work closely with inside sales and project teams to develop quotations and product solutions Grow sales and gross profit through new account development and expansion of existing relationships Partner with manufacturers and vendor representatives to identify opportunities and provide customer solutions Maintain an active pipeline of prospective and existing business Develop long-term customer relationships through consistent communication, follow-through, and responsive service Qualifications Strong sales, relationship-building, and business-development skills Existing business relationships within the Northern Central Valley or surrounding markets are strongly preferred Experience in electrical distribution, electrical contracting, construction, industrial supply, manufacturing, or related B2B sales is preferred Electrical product and industry knowledge is a plus Inside sales professionals with strong customer relationships who are ready to transition into outside sales are encouraged to apply Demonstrated ability or desire to prospect, develop new accounts, and build a territory Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of business development Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and customer-service skills Comfortable spending significant time in the field developing customer relationships Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who wants more than simply manage an existing group of accounts.
