This full-time contract opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year, working onsite with an engaged student population near Tacoma, WA. What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Washington state Special Education certification and ESA certificate (must be verified at application)
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in special education, with a strong preference for candidates who are mid-career professionals
• Proven background working in school settings, particularly with transitional age students
• Ability to adapt curriculum and foster life skills in diverse learners
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Willingness to participate in the district’s BIE adjudication process, which may affect initial start date

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to support students with special needs as they prepare for adult life
• Collaborate with support staff, families, and external agencies to create and implement transition plans
• Foster independence and self-advocacy in each student by integrating real-world tasks and experiences
• Monitor and document student progress in compliance with IEP goals and state guidelines
• Engage fully onsite and contribute to a dynamic, supportive team environment
