Under direction of the Branch Chief for the Office of Corridor and System Planning (OCSP), the Associate Transportation Planner will work independently to perform difficult and complex, wide ranging system planning project deliverables and services including supporting and leading the development, review, analysis, and implementation of programs, directives, and guidance to further Caltrans’ strategic goals and plans. Job duties may include but is not limited to supporting major efforts such as the Corridor Tiering Process, Planning for Project Delivery Dashboard, District Strategic Plan Guide, Emphasis Area Guides, Caltrans Corridor Planning Guide (CCPG), SB1 Program, Feasibility Studies, and State/Locally Sponsored PID project nominations.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the AssociateTransportation Planner Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
