Small Animal Rotating Internship - Mission, KS

Overview MVES and OPVES offer a rotating small animal internship focusing on internal medicine, surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, cardiology, oncology, anesthesiology, and neurology. Supported by specialists and more than 15 emergency doctors, the program provides primary case management under specialist supervision, emergency case stabilization, and direct interaction with specialists for referral cases. Interns participate in weekly critical care and surgery rounds, present a one‑hour continuing education lecture, and may publish their research. Training & Rotations Interns will receive hands‑on experience in 24‑hour critical care, emergency management, advanced diagnostics (blood gas, chemistry, imaging, ultrasound), and referral services including CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and minimally invasive surgery. Responsibilities Primary case management with specialist supervision Emergency case stabilization under experienced ER doctors Attend weekly critical care and surgery rounds Construct and present a one‑hour continuing education lecture Engage in referral case discussions with specialists Support patients with intensive monitoring, respiratory assistance, and nutritional support as needed Qualifications DVM, VMD, or equivalent Ability to obtain Kansas veterinary medical licensure Excellent work ethic and enthusiasm for learning and client interaction Strong academic performance and professional recommendations Work authorization in the United States; no visa sponsorship, TN status considered Compensation & Benefits Competitive intern‑level salary of $45,000 and a comprehensive benefits package including: VIN membership at no charge Continuing education allowance Eligibility for medical, dental, vision coverage Eligibility for life insurance Eligibility to participate in 401(k) retirement savings plan Professional liability coverage EEO Statement Ethos Veterinary Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
