Counter Sales Rep

OBJECTIVE:A salesperson is to provide GREAT customer service and consistently maintain a professional approach and pleasant shopping experience. Salespeople must be efficient and effective in selling while building and maintaining strong relationships with as many customers as possible. The goal is to keep the customer coming back. Bilingual Preferred, but not required.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide GREAT customer serviceGreet and assist customers promptly and professionallyAnswer the phone promptly and professionallyReturn all callbacks in a timely mannerFollow company policies and proceduresMaintain appropriate GP% on all ordersGetting deposits on all cash special orders (minimum 50%)Process all estimates, orders, and special orders in a correct and timely fashionInvoice orders in a timely manner after product has been picked up or deliveredRead and enforce all customer account notes and information in the customer’s accountCoordinate with teammates to ensure there is always adequate coverage at the front counterNotify Supervisor if leaving the counter for an extended period of timeCommunicate with buyers as needed to ensure stock levels are satisfactoryProvide complete and correct paperwork for receivingCommunicate clearly with the dispatcher and provide complete and correct paperwork for all deliveries; the vendor will call and credit pickupsFollow through with all appropriate coworkers and vendors when credit returns if special orders are involvedConfirming with accounts receivable that a charge account is in good standing before placing an orderGet confirmations on special orders, review and update the purchase order to matchReview, update, process, and follow up on all your open orders by checking your Order Viewer multiple times dailyBe proactive on following up on estimates provided to customersContinue expanding product knowledgeGive input on the procurement of new itemsFollow through with addressing any problems promptly and get the Sales Manager involved if neededKeep current on all reports, including delivery dates, credits, missing deposits, OK to fills, etc.Maintain a clean and organized workspace and front counter areaPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Sit/stand for 8 hours per dayMust be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. occasionallyMust be able to push/pull 50 lbs.Horizontal reaching is requiredAll mobility motions are required (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing)Limited range of motion and physical activity occurring randomly for 8 or more hours per dayThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
