Responsibilities Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team. Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays. Monitor incoming cases for damaged items. Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery products. Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment. Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations, and verify that other Bakery team members follow these procedures. Adapt to a fast‑paced environment and support the team as needed. Qualifications At least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years of retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience. Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule that can include nights, weekends, and holidays. Outgoing, friendly, and positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills. Good communication skills, capable of giving and receiving direction in a team environment. Ability to answer phones and take special orders. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.). Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; accurately weigh and label products. Stand for up to 3 hours continuously for an 8‑hour shift; lift vertically up to 5 lb. from 7″ to 64″ and horizontally up to 40 lb. from 5″ to 36″ over distances up to 36 ft., for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance. Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
