Job Description
A well-established precision manufacturing company in Berea, Ohio is seeking a Machine Operator Trainee to join its day-shift manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, or hands-on machine experience who wants to build a long-term career in machining.
Previous Acme multi-spindle screw machine experience is NOT required. Training will be provided on the job.
The selected candidate will be trained to operate and maintain Acme multi-spindle screw machines while learning inspection, preventative maintenance, tooling and production procedures.
Responsibilities
- Learn to operate Acme multi-spindle screw machines through on-the-job training
- Monitor machine operation and production
- Inspect parts and help ensure products meet quality requirements
- Learn to interchange and grind cutting tools used within the machines
- Monitor and maintain machine fluid levels
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and machine upkeep
- Clean machines before and after use as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation
- Follow established work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Follow company quality-management and ISO procedures
- Report quality or production concerns to the supervisor
- Follow OSHA and company safety requirements
- Perform additional production duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, machine operating, production, mechanical, or related hands-on experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Interest in learning machining and developing a skilled trade
- Ability to learn new equipment and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to commute reliably to Berea, OH 44017
