Maintenance Technician- 2nd Shift

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician- 2nd Shift to join our team located in Jackson, Georgia. The Maintenance Technician will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance, repairs and continuous improvement. 2nd Shift : Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm with training initially on 1st shift. Supportive and collaborative culture Tenured team of leaders and peers to provide support and training Growth Potential What Success Looks Like: Working with PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to improve overall plant automation efforts. Performing general maintenance of all equipment. Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements. Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers. Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions. Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V. Must know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM). Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed. Attend outside training and seminars for continual education. What You Bring: 2-3 years of maintenance experience preferred. Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other electrical components. Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
