About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a focus on healthcare to join their mission-driven organization. The successful candidate will be a key player in protecting and advancing the company's purpose of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role goes beyond traditional in-house legal functions, as the Senior Counsel will be a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing strategy, and ensuring compliance with complex healthcare regulations. Responsibilities include serving as a legal advisor for operational decisions, partnering on regulatory matters, drafting and managing a variety of healthcare agreements, overseeing litigation, and supporting corporate governance. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, active State Bar membership, and at least 7 years of healthcare legal experience, with a strong background in areas such as HIPAA, HITECH, Medicaid, and fraud and abuse regulations.
