Job Title - Sales Associate  

Shell World of the Florida Keys Inc is hiring a full-time Sales Associate in Key Largo, FL to join its family-owned retail destination. 

Company Overview  

Shell World is a long-established, family‑owned store offering coastal décor, gifts, apparel, souvenirs, jewelry, shells, and island‑inspired merchandise. The role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with product selection, processing sales, maintaining an organized and inviting store environment, and supporting overall sales goals. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service. 
• Assist customers with product selection and answer questions about merchandise. 
• Build positive relationships with customers and encourage repeat business. 
• Process purchases, returns, exchanges, and payments accurately. 
• Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing POS and sales floor. 
• Restock merchandise and maintain appropriate product displays. 
• Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock or replenishment needs. 
• Receive, unpack, price, tag, and organize new merchandise. 
• Support visual merchandising and seasonal store displays. 
• Meet or support daily and monthly sales goals. 
• Maintain accurate records and follow store policies and procedures. 
• Assist with opening and closing duties, as needed. 
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily store operations. 

Requirements  

• This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, worked over four consecutive days, including weekends (Thu-Sun or Fri-Mon). Candidates must have availability and flexibility to work on the required four-day schedule, including Saturday and Sunday. 
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. 
• Minimum 3 years of previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.  
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.  
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.  
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.  
• Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) skills.  
• Comfortable learning product information and recommending products to customers.  
• Ability to multitask in a busy retail environment.  
• Dependable, punctual, and reliable.  
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.  
• Ability to lift and carry boxes or merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds 
• Basic computer and technology skills.  
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

Compensation & Benefits  

Salary: Minimum $20.00/hour, negotiable commensurate with experience
