Director of Quality Assurance

General Description

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the organization's Quality Management System to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. This role provides strategic leadership across quality assurance, compliance, auditing, supplier quality, and risk management functions while partnering with executive leadership to drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (But not limited to the following)

Develop and execute the long-term quality strategy aligned with company objectives and customer requirements.

Serve as the organization's senior quality authority and executive representative for audits, certifications, and customer engagements.

Build, mentor, and lead high-performing quality teams across functions and/or multiple sites.

Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Own and maintain the QMS in compliance with AS9100 and applicable regulatory standards.

Ensure effective document control, configuration management, and change management processes.

Drive risk-based thinking, process discipline, and system effectiveness reviews.

Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure quality is integrated into all business processes.

Support new product introduction (NPI), FAI/FAIR readiness, and process validation activities.

Influence leadership decisions with risk-based quality assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Organizational Leadership or related field required.

Master's degree in Engineering, Quality, or Organizational Leadership preferred.

5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in regulated manufacturing (aerospace preferred).

Proven experience leading AS9100-certified organizations and managing external audits.

Experience working directly with OEM customers and regulatory bodies.
