Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

The General Production Worker supports multiple departments on the shop floor in a clean, modern, and highly automated manufacturing environment. This role involves hands-on work with metal parts, basic hand and power tools, and the opportunity to be cross-trained across machine operation, quality inspection, hand finishing, and shipping/receiving. The position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical inclination, such as experience working on cars or motorcycles, who can follow written job orders, perform basic math, and work independently while proactively seeking out tasks.

• Support multiple departments on the shop floor, including machine operation, quality control and metrology, hand finishing, and shipping/receiving.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively to support production activities.
• Follow detailed written job orders and work instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Perform basic math calculations as needed to verify measurements, quantities, and job specifications.
• Assist with machine operation by following detailed work instructions and using hand tools to run and monitor equipment.
• Support quality control and inspection activities by following instructions and using inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers; print reading is a plus.
• Perform hand finishing and deburring by using hand tools to remove material from metal parts and achieve required surface quality.
• Carry out polishing and other finishing tasks to meet product standards and customer requirements.
• Handle shipping and receiving duties by following work instructions to receive, package, label, and ship manufactured products.
• Work independently on the shop floor and proactively identify and undertake productive tasks when not directly assigned.
• Collaborate with team members and align with a hands-on, driven, and safety-conscious shop culture.
• Maintain compliance with ITAR requirements and adhere to all company procedures and quality standards.

• Strong mechanical inclination, with on-the-job experience or hands-on hobbies such as working on cars, motorcycles, or similar mechanical projects.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and confidently.
• Willingness and ability to be cross-trained in all aspects of the shop, including machining, inspection, finishing, and shipping/receiving.
• Ability to follow written job orders and detailed work instructions accurately.
• Capability to perform basic math calculations relevant to production and inspection tasks.
• ITAR compliant and able to work within regulated manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to find work to do without constant supervision.
• Comfort working in a production and machine shop environment with multiple departments.
• Attention to detail when using inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Alignment with a driven, hands-on, and team-oriented work culture.

• Experience in machine operation within a manufacturing or machine shop setting.
• Exposure to quality control, metrology, or inspection processes, including use of inspection tools.
• Experience with deburring, hand finishing, and polishing of metal parts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical prints or drawings (print reading is a plus).
• Interest in learning the entire CNC manufacturing process, with openness to comprehensive training.
• Desire to grow within a modern, highly automated CNC environment that includes robotic systems.
• Flexibility to work a training shift (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and transition to swing shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) as needed.
• Strong work ethic and passion for hands-on, shop-floor work.
• Comfort working in separate areas dedicated to quality and shipping departments.

The role is based in a very clean and modern machine shop that has recently integrated new robotic systems to support CNC operations. The environment is highly automated on the CNC side, with clearly defined separate areas for quality and shipping departments. Employees use a range of hand and power tools, as well as inspection equipment such as micrometers and calipers, in a structured production setting. The training shift runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an expectation to move to a swing shift from Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The shop emphasizes safety, organization, and a professional, hands-on atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
