Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery (Days)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days, 12 hours with variable start times (typically between 5am-6pm).

The Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery unit has basic knowledge of operative procedures and is responsible for assessing and implementing care for patients undergoing surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Regularly assesses patient needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's plan of care.
• Provides direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment plan and collaborates with team members to update/revise it as needed.
• Processes physician orders and performs prescribed care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follows up on medication changes and order clarifications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2+ years of RN experience - Required
• Pre/Post Operative experience - Required
• PACU experience - Required
• Epic EMR experience - Preferred
• Active Michigan RN License - Required
• Active American Heart Association BLS - Required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS - Required
• Skills checklist current to the specialty (Ambulatory) - Required
• 2 Supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years - Required
