Job Description

Consilio’s client, a national business law firm with its main office in Charleston, South Carolina , is seeking a skilled and dependable Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract basis.

This is a flexible opportunity to support an active litigation docket, with matters focused primarily on insurance coverage disputes and complex personal injury litigation . The attorney will work closely with experienced litigators and have the opportunity to handle substantive associate-level litigation work.

Position Details

• Position: Litigation Attorney
\n
• Location: Remote, with the ability to report to the firm’s Charleston, SC office as needed for client and team meetings
\n
• Hours: 20–30 hours per week
\n
• Start Date: October 2026
\n
• Duration: 6–12 months
\n
• Pay Rate: $75/hour
\n
• Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

\n

The attorney will be responsible for a variety of litigation-related assignments, including:

\n

\n
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation filings
\n
• Conducting legal research and analysis
\n
• Preparing and responding to written discovery
\n
• Reviewing and analyzing documents and case materials
\n
• Preparing for and taking or defending depositions
\n
• Assisting with hearings, mediations, and case strategy
\n
• Supporting attorneys with trial preparation and, as appropriate, at trial
\n
• Managing assignments independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product
\n

Qualifications

\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\n

\n
• Active South Carolina bar license in good standing — required
\n
• Litigation experience, preferably involving insurance coverage disputes and/or complex personal injury matters
\n
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
\n
• Excellent attention to detail
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments efficiently
\n
• Strong communication and organizational skills
\n
• Ability to collaborate effectively with experienced litigators and the broader legal team
\n
• Candidates located in or near Charleston, SC are preferred
\n
