Estate Planning AttorneyLatitude is assisting a growing boutique law firm in identifying an Estate Planning Attorney to support its expanding trusts and estates practice. This role will focus on advising individuals and families on comprehensive estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, probate avoidance, wealth transfer, business succession, and related tax planning considerations.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical estate planning experience, excellent client counseling skills, and the ability to manage sophisticated matters with a practical, client-focused approach. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and families in developing customized estate plans designed to preserve and protect generational wealth.This firm operates with a true lifestyle firm model, prioritizing high-quality client service, meaningful attorney autonomy, and sustainable work-life balance. Office hours are 8am-5pmPT (Monday-Thursday) and 8am-2pm PT (Friday).This role is ideally suited for an attorney located in Spokane, Washington or Coeur d’Alene, Idaho who can work in a hybrid capacity with at least two days per week in the office. Remote attorneys licensed in another Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) jurisdiction who are eligible to waive into Washington will also be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on estate planning strategies, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and probate avoidance planningDraft and review estate planning documents, trust amendments, beneficiary designations, and transfer documentsCounsel clients on gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning strategiesSupport trust administration, probate matters, and post-death estate settlement as neededAdvise business owners on succession planning, entity transfers, and ownership transition strategiesCollaborate with financial advisors, accountants, trustees, and family office professionals to implement planning strategiesMaintain strong client relationships and provide high-touch, responsive legal counsel throughout the planning processStay current on developments in estate, tax, and trust law affecting client planning strategiesQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standingLicensed in Washington preferred, or licensed in a UBE jurisdiction with eligibility to waive into Washington5+ years of experience in estate planning, trusts and estates, tax planning, or private wealth lawStrong drafting experience with sophisticated estate planning documentsExperience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held business owners preferredWorking knowledge of federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax principlesExcellent communication, client management, and relationship-building skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client matters independentlyPosition Details of the Estate Planning Attorney:Type of role: PermanentSchedule: Full-timeLocation: Spokane or Coeur d’Alene, Idaho who can work in a hybrid capacity with at least two days per week in the office preferred.
