About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Minimum of 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience is required. - Pulmonary patient care experience is required. - Experience caring for ventilated patients, including bi-pap and trach care, is highly preferred. - Recent or current charge experience is required. - Level I trauma experience is highly preferred. License: - Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license at the time of submission is required. Certifications: - Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required. Must-Have: - Work history/resume must demonstrate 24 months of medical surgical experience. - Skills checklist must align with the medical surgical discipline. - Professional reference from a charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director is preferred. - Driver’s license is required. Description: We are seeking qualified candidates for a nursing position in a medical surgical environment. The unit provides care for patients with pulmonary and medical surgical needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4 to 1:6. Nurses may be required to float among different campuses. Candidates will be expected to work 1-2 of the upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed. The role involves caring for patients who may be COVID-positive. Nurses will be expected to manage medications and drips, including heparin. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team.
