Production Supervisor

Production SupervisorResponsible for the supervision and direction of all shift production employees. Operates the factory within all safety regulations, quality standards and maintain production standards as efficiently as possible. Adheres to good housekeeping and assumes responsibility for the entire facility in the absence of the Technical Manager. Maintains the highest standard of professionalism and a positive attitude while handling multiple tasks and priorities.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and providing clear, consistent communication of safe work expectationsSupports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable lawsActively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risksLead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough mannerEnsures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsibleSets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goalsMotivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedbackIdentifies and coordinates additional training as neededPeople planning to ensure adequate coverage on all machines for scheduled productionFollow all Company policies and proceduresCommunicating with other shift supervisors to anticipate and prepare for any possible production problemsEnsure the machines run according to the instructions/specifications on the Traveler (i.e. correct resin, additives and packaging)Manages all employees during the shiftProvides detailed reports to Technical Manager and/or Plant ManagerCorrectly records daily production to Web EFFMaintains good employee relations by stimulating maximum efficiency and productivity of all production employees through good communication and regular performance reviewsProvides training as appropriate (i.e. tool box meetings, safety, etc.)Recommends the hiring and releasing of production personnel as required to maintain production schedulesResponsible for all processes, equipment, employee's safety and housekeeping of the areas and meeting production quality and quantity standards of their shiftAssures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the departmentsKeeps accurate records of departmental activities by documenting log bookCollects and summarizes raw material usage and inventory, monitoring usage for maximum efficiencyWorks with and through the set-up, lead persons, operators, technicians on shift to manage the shiftPerforms duties in a safe manner and address all observed safety hazards and unresolved safety issues with Plant/Technical ManagerSafety Commitment:Takes reasonable care for their own health and safetyTakes reasonable care for the health and safety of othersAuthorized to stop work when a perceived unsafe condition or behavior may result in an unwanted eventUnderstands and actively participates in the company's EHS policy, goals, and objectivesQualifications and Requirements :Ability to implement, training and administer general safety practicesParticipate in safety meetings and follow through on recommendationsConduct employee meetings with shiftCoordinate with the Plant/Technical Manager, Safety Manager and Maintenance Manager on maintenance prioritiesCoordinate with Human Resources department in the training, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions for all assigned employeesPresent a positive and professional attitude at all timesMust possess excellent interpersonal, communication, written and leadership skillsBe punctual and maintain good attendance recordEssential Physical Requirements:The employee in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time);
