Accounts Payable Lead

The Accounts Payable Lead provides essential support to the Accounting department, primarily within the Accounts Payable and other general Accounting functions. The Accounting Specialist serves as a critical connector between the accounting team and project management throughout the full life cycle of all active projects.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, generally working approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts payable posting and payment reconciliation.
• Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation.
• Support project accounting, sales and use tax, and financial reporting.
• Maintain and review accounts payable, employee expense and per diem reports.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and summaries for management: support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Assist in special projects, including preparing information for audit/review.
• Provide backup for billing, AR and AP functions of the business.
• Assists Controller and other accounting department personnel as necessary.
• Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and standards; identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; equivalent work experience will be considered.
• 2+ years accounting work experience-Required
• Understanding of GAAP and accounting principles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills – strongly preferred
• Accounts Payable experience preferred
• Construction industry experience a plus
• Experience with an ERP or construction accounting platform – preferred
