Recreation Director

Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island join our team and make a difference in the lives of our residents! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Director to lead our Activities Department at the Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island. As a Recreation Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a variety of recreational activities and programs that cater to the physical, cognitive, social, and recreational needs of our residents. About the Role: Develop and implement programs that meet the individual physical, cognitive, social, and recreational needs of our residents Design and provide individual and group activities of interest to our residents, including exercise programs, community social events, literary and educational programs Evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs and make adjustments as neededAssume responsibility for supplies within the activity budget Post activity schedules on nursing units and ensure adherence to activity schedules Develop resident leadership in planning and implementation of activity programming Evaluate staff performance on a daily basis and provide monthly activity staff meetings to discuss resident plans of care Establish an active volunteer program and provide supervision of volunteers Attend meetings as necessary and maintain a department budget Requirements: High school diploma or GED Long Term Care Certification preferred Undergraduate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation preferred Certified Dementia Practitioner preferred Two years of long-term care experience preferred What We Offer: At Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island, we are committed to providing a deeper level of personal caring.
