Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms and public areas consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and luxury hospitality. This role provides leadership and guidance to housekeeping team members, conducts quality inspections, and promotes operational excellence while supporting The Monarch San Antonio's commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

What You'll Do

• Supervise Room Attendants, Housepersons, Laundry Attendants, and other housekeeping team members.
• Assign daily work schedules and ensure timely completion of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Monitor staffing, productivity, scheduling, and labor management.
• Coordinate room priorities with the Front Office for arrivals, departures, VIP guests, and special requests.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure luxury cleanliness standards before release.
• Respond to guest requests and resolve housekeeping concerns through service recovery.
• Train, coach, mentor, and develop team members while reinforcing policies and service standards.
• Assist with performance evaluations, recognition, coaching, and corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, hotel safety standards, and chemical handling procedures.
• Conduct safety inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Manage inventory of linens, uniforms, guest supplies, and housekeeping products while minimizing waste.
• Complete inspection reports, room status updates, productivity reports, and departmental documentation accurately.
• Communicate with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments regarding operational needs.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous housekeeping supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years of housekeeping experience in a full-service or luxury hotel preferred.
• Experience with hotel property management systems and housekeeping management software preferred.

Other Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Commitment to teamwork, operational excellence, and exceptional guest service.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
