Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Summer Contracts Administrator Intern for our Bridgeton, MO facility to gain hands-on experience supporting the Contracts team in the administration of U.S. Government, commercial, and subcontract agreements. The intern will assist with proposal and contract-review support, contract data entry and reporting, contract-file organization, correspondence preparation, and research related to contract terms, requirements, and deliverables.

This role will provide exposure to the full contract lifecycle—from proposal development and contract award through post-award administration, modifications, deliverables, and closeout activities. The intern will work closely with Contracts professionals and cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Legal, while developing an understanding of contract compliance, customer requirements, and company policies. The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional experience to students with demonstrated academic performance, attention to detail, and leadership potential. Students will also have the opportunity to utilize the company’s flexible work schedule.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and project support to the Contracts team, with increasing responsibility based on performance and business needs
• Update and track contract data, key dates, deliverables, milestones, and customer requirements in databases, spreadsheets, and contract-management tools
• Prepare contract-related summaries, correspondence, reports, presentations, charts, and trackers under supervision
• Assist with organizing and maintaining contract files, correspondence, modifications, deliverable records, and other contract documentation
• Conduct research and summarize information related to contract terms, customer requirements, company procedures, and assigned projects
• Support proposal and post-award contract-administration activities by collecting inputs, maintaining records, and coordinating with internal stakeholders
• Respond to routine internal requests for contract information or route inquiries to the appropriate Contracts team member
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and assist with meeting coordination, notes, and action-item tracking as directed
• Support special projects involving contract compliance, records management, process improvement, data validation, or contract closeout
• Handle proprietary, export-controlled, and other sensitive information in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and currently a Sophomore or above pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or a related field
• Interest in contracts, government contracting, business operations, procurement, project management, or related disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, professional correspondence and summaries
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to research, analyze, organize, and summarize information accurately
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other standard office software
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team

The salary range for this position is $35,249.00/year- $44,062.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
