Senior Tax Accountant

You didn’t get into tax to spend your time copying last year’s work and hoping nothing changes. And yet… here we are. This role is a bit different. You will still do the work for corporates, partnerships, and individuals, but it is a proper mix, mostly small businesses, so you are actually thinking, not just repeating. You see how things connect, build judgement, and get better. It is a 40‑person firm across three offices – big enough that things run properly, small enough that people know who you are. Tax is the majority of the work, but you are not boxed in; there is audit, reviews, compilations, payroll around you. It makes a difference. You stop seeing things in isolation. The firm is honest about the hours. Busy season sits around 55 to 60 hours. It is not light, but it is not ridiculous either. The difference is what happens after. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Fridays are half days. Hybrid is the same – a few days in the office, more flexibility when things are quieter. No one is hovering over your shoulder. Responsibilities Work with corporates, partnerships, individuals, and most of the time, small businesses. Engage in tax work and related areas such as audit, reviews, compilations, and payroll. Collaborate across functions, seeing how things connect and building judgement. Operate in a hybrid environment with flexibility. Qualifications Generalist background with experience across different returns. Comfortable working with small‑business clients.
