Success means delivering practical, well-documented solutions that are clearly understood by technical stakeholders and that create measurable business impact.As our Python Specialist Engineering, you will:Develop and maintain Python code and scripts to meet defined requirementsTranslate business requirements into clear technical and functional requirements for deliveryCommunicate requirements and technical decisions clearly to technical stakeholdersProduce user guides, knowledge materials, and summaries of business impacts and benefitsParticipate in code reviews and testing activities with global colleaguesApply systems thinking to understand end-to-end impacts and dependenciesInfluence solution design discussions using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) working knowledgeMaintain a strong customer focus when shaping solutions and day-to-day decisionsYoull likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:Bring strong hands-on experience writing Python code and scriptsDemonstrate experience translating business needs into technical and functional requirementsShow a track record of producing clear documentation, including user guides and knowledge materialsCommunicate effectively with global colleagues across activities such as code review and testingApply systems thinking to evaluate impacts across processes, data, and technologyInfluence decision-making through subject matter expertise and well-reasoned optionsParticipate in solution design with a solid working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Bring a customer-centric approach to shaping and delivering outcomesAs an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow.
