Commercial Vehicle Inspection Specialist

Duties include, but are not limited to: perform inspections on commercial type vehicles to determine compliance with weight, size, registration, safety and equipment requirements, inspect and test all types of commercial vehicle brake systems for compliance with the Vehicle Code and other applicable laws and regulations, operate scales, detect overweight vehicles, weigh and obtain pertinent information. When necessary, refer violations to an officer for enforcement action.

Working Conditions
Cordelia CVEF is located on Interstate 80 near the city of Fairfield. I-80 is the major travel corridor between the Sacramento and San Francisco metropolitan areas. The CVIS assigned to the position will work one of three (3) assigned shifts, 40 hours per week.
